Your course will cover You will develop your skills in a range of hairdressing services including shampooing and conditioning hair and scalp, styling the hair using drying and setting techniques, basic cutting techniques, perming and neutralising, basic hair colouring techniques, salon reception duties, developing effective team work practices and salon health, safety and security. You must also carry out work placement in a salon as part of your course. You will also have the opportunity to gain qualifi cations in Functional Skills. Entry requirements You must have Hairdressing level 1 and GCSE grade D or above in English. Your course will cover You will study advanced hair techniques and promotional skills. Subjects include health and safety, promoting products and services, enhanced consultation techniques, advanced cutting techniques, advanced colouring techniques, colour correction. Styling and dressing long hair and creative hairdressing are also covered with an opportunity to enter national hairdressing competitions and work creatively at external events. You must also carry out work in a real life salon as part of your course. You will also have the opportunity to gain qualifi cations in Functional Skills, hair extentions and perming. Entry requirements NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing and experience of salon work.
