Performing Engineering Operations ( PEO) Level 2 FE041MT TCC ( Mechanical Engineering) FE050MT TCC ( Fabrication and Welding) A broad- based course for people wishing to develop basic engineering knowledge before specialising in any one particular area. Your course will cover You will choose one of two routes - mechanical engineering or fabrication and welding - and learn how to work safely in an engineering environment and work with other people. If you follow the mechanical engineering route you will gain skills in bench fi tting and setting and operating machinery involving turning, milling and grinding. If you follow the fabrication and welding route you will learn how to join material by welding, cut materials using oxy- fuel gas cutting equipment and the fabrication of test pieces using engineering drawings. In addition to the practical activities and skills development in our workshops, both routes will provide the underpinning knowledge and theory required to support your advancement in engineering. You will also have the opportunity to gain qualifi cations in Functional Skills. It is important to continue improving your English and maths as well as the IT skills needed in the engineering sector. BTEC National Diploma in Manufacturing Level 3 FE121MT TCC A course suitable for people wishing to apply their learning in a practical, theoretical and realistic engineering environment and would like to progress to Higher Education or a career in engineering Your course will cover You will learn the practical skills of engineering manufacturing and fabrication and the technological principles involved in engineering manufacturing including material properties and structures and business systems. You will further develop your knowledge and skills in engineering design principles and the interpretation and use of engineering drawings. In addition to engineering theory and principles, you will be involved in workshop practice and gain the skills and understanding of equipment and tooling used in the industry through your engineering project activity. You will also study units in maths and science and be working towards a Performing Engineering Operations qualifi cation. You will have the opportunity to gain qualifi cations in Functional Skills and improve your GCSE maths and English grades. This will enhance opportunities for progress on to Higher Education. We have extensive land and gardens to work in and our work includes the planting and propagation of plants, shrubs and trees as well as creating interesting and varied horticultural projects. We have an excellent collection of species including domestic and exotic animals and we operate a farm and land that accommodates our livestock.
