8 Studying a Higher Education course at the college means that you are able to study for a nationally recognised Higher Education qualification locally and without attending university. Studying locally means that you have all the benefits of studying at an advanced level but you attend at one of our college campuses. Many of our courses are validated by a local university such as Sheffield Hallam University or The University of Huddersfield who will provide the awarding qualification upon achievement. We also work with nationally and internationally known awarding bodies and your achievement is recognised widely by employers and the wider community so that you get full recognition for your success. Our courses offer great value for money and you will discover that our fees are another benefit of studying a Higher Education course here at the college; they are very competitively priced. Investing in our courses and qualifications can offer you a very worthwhile return as not only will you enjoy learning new skills and developing your knowledge, you can also create valuable career opportunities for yourself through achieving higher qualifications. Quality and value are key features of our Higher Education provision. As well as being overseen by universities and awarding bodies, all of our Higher Education provision is regulated by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education ( QAA). Our latest inspection by the QAA during 2009- 10 provides students with the confidence they need that our courses meet with rigorous national standards for the delivery of Higher Education. Our courses and their content are always under review by the universities and awarding bodies to make sure that they remain relevant to employers and educators. This may mean that some of the units, course content and occasionally the course titles are updated prior to the start of the course. Where this is the case, our tutors and advisors will keep you informed. Students benefit from learning from staff who have direct experience of industry, business and public services and are able to share this with students. Our staff are able to support your progression to a higher education course and you will soon realise and enjoy the benefits of working with knowledgeable and experienced staff in a supportive and motivating learning environment. Choosing to study a Higher Education course at Rotherham College of Arts and Technology could well be one of the best decisions you take and we look forward to discussing your ambitions and aspirations and helping you achieve your goals.
