Learning Centres There are six Learning Centres across two campuses, each with specific curriculum focus. The Learning Centres provide a wide range of resources and different study environments to help you study and learn in a way that suits you. Evening opening, targeted vacation openings and a strong virtual presence on Moodle ( our virtual learning environment) the Student Portal, via Twitter and our Learning Centre Catalogue, make sure access won't be a problem. Study Environments Throughout each learning centre there are a number of different study environments. From social learning areas and drop- in PCs to quieter study spaces we provide a place for you to study that fits the way you want to learn. To make your learning easier, you can take advantage of the wireless network available within the Learning Centres, where you can access the internet from a college laptop or from your own mobile device. Resources and Journals The Learning Centres include extensive hardcopy collections ( books, magazines, newspapers), multimedia collections ( DVDs, CDs) for study and personal use. There are online collections available anywhere on or off campus and drop in PCs with the latest software. Our eCollection includes over 9000 online journals, 3000 eBooks and 1000 online newspapers as well as numerous subject specific resources to support any course. Library Networks and Inter- Library Loans The Learning Centres have close links with other local libraries, HE partner libraries and can apply to British Library to access its resources and journals. All you need to do is let us know what item you require and we will source it either locally or nationally to get it to you as quickly as possible. Information Skills The Learning Centre team run a programme of subject specific information skills sessions for all HE courses. These sessions are designed to make sure you have the skills to get the best from the information sources available within college but also to navigate the increasing complex world of the internet. Once we've shown you how to find the information you need we'll also take you through how to use it to complete your assignments and projects. If after this you still have specific questions our team of experienced information professionals also offer one to one sessions to make sure you get the help you need. Academic Facilities 3

Student Support At Rotherham College of Arts and Technology we are ' dedicated to your learning' and will encourage and support you to reach your full potential. Disability Support The College welcomes students with learning difficulties and / or disabilities and aims to respond flexibly to your needs. All our Higher Education courses are open to students who have a disability, providing they meet the course entry criteria. Students with disabilities are entitled to apply to claim the Disabled Student Allowance ( DSA). This is a government fund to help pay for the support and equipment you require to succeed in your studies. To be eligible you will be required to provide specific evidence of your disability and will be involved in an assessment to identify the detailed support needed by you as an individual. You should apply for this funding as soon as you apply for your Higher Education course. We also offer guidance and information on attending college whilst on benefits and funding that may be available to eligible students. Whilst you are at College if you are experiencing problems, whether it be in your personal life or to do with your studies and you feel that you need to talk to someone, the Counsellors at College are professionally trained and committed to offering you the help you may need.
